This site is a tribute to Betty. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved all animals, particularly dogs, and always wanted to make sure they were cared for.
The first dog she had, Trigger, adopted her. She had been staying at his owner's house and he decided he wanted to move in with her. Her second dog, Sheba, came to her when she was being rehomed, and then she kept Jimmy, one of Sheba's puppies. Her next dog, Monty, arrived as friend for Jimmy after Sheba passed away and he soon ruled the roost. Betty's next dog was Jasper, who was rescued from the local kennels. Finally, Dickie was her daughter's dog. They had a special bond, particularly because of the excellent snacks she gave him.
Betty didn't discriminate with her love of animals. For example, she looked after the resident peacock in her garden, the horses down the road, and the foxes in the fields behind her house.
Animals were such a key part of her life that we found it fitting that donations be sent to Blue Cross in her memory. She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered.
